Axis

Axis Works

The challenge of this project for myself, was hierarchy. This was the third project we were assigned in typography and this being my first full-on graphic design class, I was still learning a lot of the basics. Utilizing outside influence, I had come up with a tag-line for the “Axis” exhibition. Working with the tag-line and the title, I formed my poster around that and noticed that vertically, express true design had some awkward white space so I utilized my color palette and created two rectangles pressing the true together and seemingly holding up the tag-line as a whole. I then included a guest speaker and all about the event in smaller text as it wasn’t of the utmost importance in regard to grabbing the viewer’s attention. This was also the first time that I had created a spread of any kind, and shown here is just a portion of the booklet all about the guest speaker events that were occurring while keeping the same design elements seen in the poster beforehand.
